Silver Eagle Manufacturing and Airodyne Industries have announced an alliance they say will allow truck fleets to retrofit their trucks more easily, from tractor to trailer, with aerodynamic technologies to comply with upcoming California Air Resources Board legislation.
As part of the alliance, Airodyne has agreed to offer Silver Eagle mid-length and mini-skirt trailer fairings to the North American fleets it services, and will continue to offer its roof fairings and shields.
“With Airodyne Industries, truck fleets now have one-stop shopping to outfit their fleets with the important aerodynamic technologies they’ll need to meet stringent CARB standards,” says Mark Jurman, vice president of commercial sales at Silver Eagle.
Silver Eagle says its mid-length and mini-skirt trailer fairings mount easily to the underside of the trailer and offer a dual-walled design that reduces aerodynamic drag to increase fuel economy. The mid-length skirt carries the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay designation, making it compliant with CARB’s legislation requiring 53-foot van trailers operating in California to install aerodynamic devices.
