FuelQuest, a company that supplies on-demand software and services for the global downstream energy industry, announced that Swift Transportation, North America’s largest truckload carrier, has extended its Fuel Management System (FMS) software and services contract for an additional five years.

Under this agreement, Swift will also begin using FMS’s delivery and invoice reconciliation applications. Swift uses FMS to maintain security of fuel supply, reducing retains and run-outs, and lowering fuel costs with a larger portfolio of suppliers.

“We are pleased with the business results that FuelQuest FMS has delivered,” said Joe Broski, Swift Transportation’s assistant director of fuel procurement. “Our requirements are not simple. Managing 16,200 trucks, 49,000 trailers, 35 major terminals strategically positioned throughout the United States and Mexico, and 12 transportation service offerings demands a proven fuel solution and a dedicated partner like FuelQuest.”

FuelQuest says its FMS streamlines Swift Transportation fuel operations by providing:
• Just-in-time inventory management with demand forecasting
• Accurate supplier invoice reconciliation accounting for price, freight, and tax
• Optimized order and dispatch management, reducing fuel costs.
