Xata announced during the TMW TransForum Conference and Exhibition the addition of Glentel to its roster of value-added resellers (VARs). For more than 40 years, Glentel has engineered, designed and commissioned wireless network solutions that are critical to a variety of industries, including transportation, which makes the company an ideal VAR for Xata and the private and for-hire fleets it serves.

Glentel is the largest reseller of both Rogers Wireless Services and Motorola products and services in Canada, and is a provider of telecommunications services and solutions across North America. “We continuously hear from our customers their need for affordable, effective access to their information,” said Tony Gural, project management director for Glentel. “We pride ourselves on partnering with companies that can provide superior service and integrate with other business mobility applications. XATA Turnpike delivers on all of those requirements, and we look forward to a successful relationship.”

Xata Turnpike’s RouteTracker device collects and transmits vehicle and driver data to a handheld device and sends it back to a hosted Web portal. Xata Turnpike’s product and service offerings are available to Glentel customers at no upfront costs and offer a strategic solution for fleets looking to optimize operations and automate regulatory compliance using consumer-grade or ruggedized handheld solutions.

“Partnering with a well-known established and respected reseller expands our market presence while also offering our joint customers more value,” says Rob Pallante, director of business development for Xata Corp. “Glentel’s technology, market focus and reach across the Canadian market are a perfect match for our business, and we’re thrilled to partner with a market leader that gives our customers a unique solution that meets their business needs.”
