ALK Technologies announced a quarterly update of toll costs for its PC Miler Tolls solution, coinciding with recent increases in commercial vehicle toll rates by a significant number of toll agencies in the United States and Canada, particularly those in the states of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
“ALK remains committed to working closely with toll authorities in the United States and Canada to provide our users with the latest changes,” said Kara Jo Witkowski, senior product marketing manager, PC Miler Solutions. “We encourage customers to download the most recent update to ensure reporting accuracy and to better manage their operating costs.”
Driven by the same technology and map data as ALK’s PC Miler routing, mileage and mapping software, the current 24 and 24.1 versions of PC Miler Tolls include 71,450 unique toll paths.
For each toll path, ALK says that PC Miler Tolls calculates exact toll costs based on vehicle weight, axle count, departure location, vehicle dimension, route preference, type of toll (cash or discount program), and destination.
ALK says it continuously monitors toll rates for each toll path and updates its tolls database quarterly as the toll rates fluctuate. The installed version of PC Miler Tolls is equipped with a web-based update tool to facilitate the ability to download software patches and data updates.
Quarterly toll cost updates are also automatically updated and maintained by ALK for users of PC Miler Web Services. This hosted interfacing application provides a standardized way of embedding PC Miler truck-specific routes, mileage, maps and reports with third-party applications and websites.
