The Healthy Trucking Association of America announced that the HTAA Healthy Trucking Summit, held annually in Atlanta, now will include a new Health & Wellness Resources Showcase that held on the final day of the HTAA Summit (Thursday, March 3) and will feature demonstrations and exhibits from health, wellness and nutrition companies with products and services aimed at helping trucking fleets and trucking associations in their efforts to improve the health of their drivers.

The HTAA Summit is a trucking industry health and wellness event that provides education and resources aimed at improving the health of our nation’s professional driver population. Each year the HTAA invites trucking fleet Safety directors, human resources directors, recruitment and retention managers and other trucking fleet executives and industry leaders to attend the summit and receive information and resources to help drivers get healthy and live longer lives.

“We’ve discovered many outstanding programs, products and services that could be of great value to trucking fleets and trucking associations in their efforts to provide drivers with resources to improve their health,” says Bill Gordon, HTAA executive director. “But very few trucking industry leaders know that these valuable resources are available, and the companies that provide them don’t know how to reach the trucking industry. This new Health & Wellness Resources Showcase will give us a chance to get the providers of these outstanding resources together with the trucking fleets and associations that need them.”

The 2011 HTAA Healthy Trucking Summit will be held March 1-3 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center, located at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta. The 2011 event will feature sessions on obesity and weight loss, sleep disorders, hypertension and heart health, respiratory health and diabetes, to name a few. Featured speakers include Dr. Benisse Lester, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration chief medical officer, and nationally recognized experts in health, wellness and nutrition. Trucking executives and companies interested in attending the summit can apply by going to www.healthytruck.org and clicking on the 2011 HTAA Healthy Trucking Summit button.
