Con-way Freight announced that John P. Burton has been named vice president of yield management. Based at Con-way Freight’s corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, Mich., Burton assumes responsibility for pricing, yield and contract management, and market analysis. He also will oversee systems supporting pricing and yield management.
A 25-year industry veteran, Burton joins Con-way Freight from ACT Research, where he was vice president of the transportation sector for the demand forecasting and research firm. His previous experience included management positions in pricing, marketing, sales administration and yield management with SCS Transportation and Preston Trucking Co., as well as Yellow Freight, a subsidiary of YRC Corp.
