Trailer Bridge names Lugo GM/Puerto Rico marketing, sales, administration

Trailer Bridge announced the appointment of Roberto Lugo to the newly created position of general manager of Puerto Rico marketing, sales and administration, responsible for Trailer Bridge’s sales efforts in Puerto Rico. For more than 35 years, Lugo has excelled in managerial positions in the transportation and logistics industries. He has received numerous company and industry awards in the areas of sales and business development, and has extensive experience in the Puerto Rico shipping markets.

In 2002, Lugo was elected to serve a two-year term as the president of the Puerto Rico Shipping Association, where he directed port tariff negotiations with the Puerto Rico Ports Authority. Lugo has held managerial positions for Crowley Maritime Corp. since 1986, including serving as vice president and general manager, Puerto Rico since 1998. He was responsible for all of Crowley’s sales and marketing efforts in Puerto Rico, including managing more than 200 people and 160,000 annual container/trailer moves. Prior to that, Lugo served in managerial positions for Transamerican Trailer Transport and Puerto Rico Marine Management Inc.
