PeopleNet, a provider of integrated onboard computing and mobile communications systems, announced that Frost & Sullivan has recognized PeopleNet’s Tablet with its 2011 New Product Innovation Award for revolutionizing driver efficiency and workflow management. “PeopleNet’s Tablet has set a new benchmark in fleet management services by combining traditional fixed-mount systems with handheld computing systems,” says Sathyanarayana Kabirdas, Frost & Sullivan research analyst. “Currently, no other platform in the industry comes close to Tablet in having the most unique value-added features that help fleet owners realize quicker ROI.”

Frost & Sullivan praised Table for its ability to maximize efficiency in all aspects of fleet operation, customize and extend fleet management solutions for higher ROI, and increase driver retention in the face of impending driver shortages. Tablet provides Windows 7 support, durability and headroom for upgrade possibilities that increase management sophistication.

“We developed Table in response to demand for faster workflow and shorter accounting cycles with cash-flow advantages,” says Matt Voda, PeopleNet vice president of product marketing. “The industry’s first onboard computer to offer optional portability provides an efficient way to validate proof-of-delivery documents within minutes of delivery.”

In addition to ROI and innovation, the New Product Innovation Award is based on other performance benchmarking criteria, including leverage of leading-edge technologies, value-added features and benefits, and customer acquisition/penetration potential.
