Xata Corp. on Thursday, April 21, named Scott Christian as the company’s chief financial officer. Christian was formerly president and chief executive officer of Spanlink Communications Inc., a Minneapolis-based Cisco partner focused on designing, implementing and supporting contact center and customer collaboration solutions.

“We’re thrilled to have Scott as part of our executive team,” says Jay Coughlan, Xata chairman and chief executive officer. “More than bringing a powerful record of financial skills, Scott has a depth of executive level experience that will fit extremely well with Xata’s growth strategy and potential. He makes a strong management team even stronger.”

Christian’s prior experience includes serving as president and CEO of Norstan Inc., a Minnetonka, Minn.-based independent communications solutions and services company serving enterprise customers in North America. He also served as senior vice president of finance of Ceridian Corp. and as CFO of Automatic Data Processing’s Electronic Services Division. He also serves on the board of Cyro-Cell International, one of the largest stem cell preservation companies in the United States.
