Saia Inc. announced that it has been named the 2010 Silver Team Award recipient by Lowe’s Companies Inc. This is the 11th consecutive year Saia has been recognized by the world’s second-largest home improvement company.

“It is always exciting for us to be honored for the service we provide our customers,” says Rick O’Dell, president and chief executive officer of Johns Creek, Ga.-based Saia. “It is particularly rewarding to be recognized by Lowe’s due to the volume of shipments we handle for them each day and the comprehensive metrics designed by their logistics professionals that they use to efficiently manage their processes. We value Lowe’s business and look forward to working with them for many more years.”

Saia was honored for achieving Lowe’s GAP Compliance Goal and the company’s “deliveries before exceptions” objective. In order to become GAP compliant, carriers consistently must deliver each Lowe’s shipment the same day it arrives at the destination facility.
