PeopleNet, a provider of onboard computing and mobile communications systems, announced that its chief operating officer, Brian McLaughlin, received the National Private Truck Council Membership Development Award at the NPTC show in Cincinnati.

“Brian has been active on the NPTC Conference Planning Committee for many years, and under his leadership, he has sent more than a dozen of his colleagues through the Private Fleet Management Institute and Certified Transportation Professional program in the last four years,” says Gary Petty, NPTC president and chief executive officer. “Last year, PeopleNet expanded its Five-Star Membership and became the sponsor of the NPTC Benchmarking Survey. As part of that relationship, PeopleNet sponsors 40 new NPTC members each year.”

McLaughlin is a 20-plus-year veteran of the transportation and financial services industries with a focus on customer-driven technology. He has been the driving force behind raising awareness of PeopleNet’s technologies designed to help the trucking industry operate more efficiency, more safely and more compliantly. PeopleNet says that as a result, the company has more than doubled revenues in recent years and continues to enhance its suite of premium products.

He serves on the NPTC Annual Conference Planning Committee and as vice chairman for the TMC Task Force focused on EOBRs as well as chairman of the PeopleNet Product Advisory Council, a group of 25 leading fleets. He is a frequent speaker at transportation and wireless industry events and conferences.

The award honors an employee of an NPTC member company who, through individual effort and personal leadership, has influenced the growth and retention of NPTC’s membership.
