U.S. Truck Sales, one of the largest dealer groups in the Midwest, announced Monday, May 2, that it has acquired certain assets of Chicago International Trucks, the largest commercial truck dealership in the Chicagoland area. Terms were not released.

Shelby Howard, dealer principal, has named Mark Yacobozzi the new president of Chicago International, one of the largest resources for truck sales, leasing, parts and service support in the Midwest with eight locations and close to 400 employees. Yacobozzi has more than 15 years of experience in the commercial truck industry.

“We are excited about the growth strategy of the U.S. Truck Sales organization and that Chicago International Trucks is now part of that plan,” says G. David Gerrard, senior vice president of dealer operations at Navistar. “U.S. Truck Sales has a proven record of accomplishment in the truck industry. Their commitment and ability to deliver value to customers and employees are what will contribute to the success of Chicago International Trucks.”

U.S. Truck Sales will retain most of the employees from Chicago International Trucks, with full-service locations covering all areas of the greater Chicagoland market including Chicago, Huntley, Carol Stream, Joliet (main office), Grayslake, Kankakee, Ottawa and Gary, Ind.

“We will be investing in the business and our facilities,” Yacobozzi says. “With expanded access to stock inventory and more services including body installation, we will add value to the customer experience and differentiate ourselves in the marketplace.” He says Chicago International will continue to offer a variety of value-added service packages, including more than 150 service bays, mobile maintenance, 24-hour emergency breakdown service and multiple body shops.
