A. Duie Pyle announced the appointment of Dan Carrano to the newly created position of director of Compliance Safety Accountability compliance. Carrano will be based at the company’s headquarters in West Chester, Pa.

“Dan’s expertise in both safety and fleet management will provide additional strength to our organization,” says Steve O’Kane, president of A. Duie Pyle. “Employing a fleet maintenance leader to assist in Pyle’s compliance with all the regulations of CSA was an appropriate investment and consistent with our commitment to safety.”

In this capacity, Carrano will oversee the development and integration of safety processes and procedures into the fleet maintenance organization. Critically, he will evaluate and update programs that unify the expertise of fleet operations, mechanics and drivers to optimize the driver daily vehicle inspection process.

Carrano will report to Pete Dannecker, director of safety and loss prevention for Pyle. His primary mission is to assure that every piece of equipment hitting the street is in perfect operating condition and therefore an asset under the measurement profile that comes with the new Compliance Safety Accountability regulations.

A former manager of vehicle maintenance for New England Motor Freight, Carrano’s career in fleet maintenance includes positions with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and New Jersey Transit, where he served as manager of quality assurance vehicle maintenance.
