Eaton Corp. announced the formation of a new Global Aftermarket and Clutch Business Unit, and named John Beering as its vice president and general manager. The new business unit combines Eaton’s automotive and truck aftermarket product lines and its heavy- duty truck clutch business and will have global responsibility for marketing, sales, business development, engineering, program management and manufacturing strategy.

“This new structure will help us to put a greater focus on the aftermarket in both the automotive and commercial vehicle markets, and it will also allow us to better apply our resources to grow these businesses globally,” says Ken Davis, president of Eaton’s Vehicle Group. “John’s business leadership skills and experience position him very well to lead and grow these businesses for us.”

Beering previously was vice president and general manager of clutch and aftermarket for Eaton’s truck business, and before that he was Truck Group director of global marketing. Beering joined Eaton in 2006 from United Technologies Corp., where he was director of marketing for its Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines & Services division.
