Landair Transport Inc. has been named as a recipient for the Great West Risk Management Award for Safety and Operational Excellence for 2010. The National Safety Awards program recognizes carriers in similar operations (truckload and less-than-truckload) with awards based on their yearend preventable accident results.

The award is based on criteria including loss results, prompt and fair claim settlement practices, timely reporting of serious claims to Great West, innovative loss prevention programs and demonstrated operational excellence. This past year, the National Safety Awards program drew more than 800 participants from across the country. This is the second Great West safety award Landair has received.

“We’re honored to receive this award from Great West,” says Neal Holladay, director of risk management/claims for Greeneville, Tenn.-based Landair. “They’re a premier transportation-only insurance provider and they scrutinize their accounts very carefully. This validates the effort that Landair employees put forth to make the roads safer for the motoring public as well to maintain our company’s good safety record.”
