RVC II, a third-party transportation and logistics provider with a national network of independent agents, announced the appointment of Michael Smith as senior vice president of sales and national accounts. Smith will focus on growing the national reach of the agency though the hiring of agents and sales associates across the country.
“I have known Michael for more than 20 years,” says Bill Lee, chief executive officer of the Dublin, Ohio-based company. “His industry knowledge and exceptional management skills, along with his ability to help us strategically position our company going forward, make Michael a perfect match for our sales team.”
Smith has more than 20 years of transportation industry experience in executive management positions. Prior to joining RVC II, Smith served as a consultant for Werner Enterprises Inc. He also previously worked for APL and KCS Railroad, where he successfully led operations, sales and marketing teams. In addition to being an active member in major industry organizations, Smith previously served on the TTX board of directors.
