PEI Foundation scholarship recipients announced

The Petroleum Equipment Institute has announced the recipients of the PEI Foundation’s Charles D. Kemp Scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year. The scholarships recognize deserving students who are dependents of employees of PEI member companies.

Scholarship recipients are Eamon Paton, son of Carol Paton, Susser Holdings, Corpus Christi, Texas; Andrew Joseph Patterson, son of Thomas Patterson, Charles E. Thomas Co., Gardena, Calif.; Nicholas Pierce, son of Cary Pierce, Great Plains Industries, Wichita, Kan.; Mackenzie Schuler, daughter of David Schuler, Northwest Pump and Equipment, Portland, Ore.; Chyna Simms, daughter of Brad Simms, Unified Contracting Services, Des Moines, Iowa; and Patricia Watkins, daughter of Robert Watkins, Baird Petroleum Equipment, Richmond, Va.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic achievement, leadership, character, need and the applicant’s intent to contribute to the future of the petroleum and energy handling equipment industry. The scholarships are named in honor and memory of Charles Kemp, longtime president of the White-Tucker Co. and president of PEI in 1972.
