Kerry Logistics has acquired a controlling interest in two groups of companies in China; Shanghai Wisdom Group and Shanghai Huicheng Logistics, strengthening the company’s presence in the ocean freight and third-party logistics sectors.

Based in Shanghai, Wisdom is a nonvessel operating common carrier and operates a sea freight consolidation platform. HCL is a 3PL provider specializing in integrated logistics in chemicals, with a special focus on dangerous goods, fast-moving consumer goods, electromechanical and automotive industries. A major service of HCL is chemical logistics spanning dangerous goods logistics, which Kerry says provides significant synergies for its business in China.

“These two acquisitions demonstrate our commitment to building on our strong position in both the ocean freight and logistics sectors in China,” says Edwardo Erni, Mainland China managing director. “We are always looking to provide our customers with an improved level of service and to strengthen our comprehensive domestic logistics network in China.”
