Mack donates Pinnacle tractor to Back on the Road campaign

Thanks to Mack Trucks and Arrow Truck Sales, one deserving driver will leave the 2012 Mid-America Trucking Show behind the wheel of a Mack Pinnacle model highway tractor. Now in its fifth year, Arrow’s Back On The Road campaign, presented by Mack, is an initiative designed to benefit a deserving truck driver in need of a truck and a job.

“Mack is proud to be a part of this year’s campaign and have the opportunity to help a driver get back on the road,” Mike Reardon, Mack vice president of sales, said. “The Bulldog has been a top choice of professional over-the-road drivers for many years. The Mack Pinnacle Axle Back Sleeper we’re providing for Back On The Road is optimized to help this year’s winner be successful in their business as they move America’s goods. It’s a 70-inch high-rise sleeper that delivers legendary Mack performance through a 485 hp Mack MP8 engine and Mack T310 10-speed manual transmission. It’s also outfitted with a SmartWay-certified aerodynamic package that’s proven to reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions of greenhouse gases.”

The truck has already played a prominent role in the industry, traveling the country as part of the American Trucking Associations’ Share The Road highway safety education program. Sponsored by Mack and designed to enhance the safety of America’s roadways by teaching car drivers how to safely drive around large trucks, Share the Road program uses professional truck drivers with exemplary safety records to spread the word about potential blind spots, safe following distances, truck stopping distances and similar messages.
