Dana Holding Corp. announced that it has entered into a long-term agreement with Blue Bird Corp. to supply Spicer drive axles for Blue Bird buses. The buses now are equipped with Spicer 21,000- and 23,000-lb. GAWR single reduction axles, which feature high power density in lightweight designs.
“As a key supplier of best-in-class driveline technologies to specialty markets, Dana’s combination of operating footprint, economies of scale and engineering support makes it the ideal choice to supply axles for Blue Bird,” says Mark Wallace, Dana’s president of On-Highway Driveline Technologies.
Dana has long supplied Spicer driveshafts for Blue Bird buses. “The sales and engineering support we have received from Dana has exceeded our expectations,” says John Kwapis, Blue Bird chief operating officer. “We are excited about our continued relationship.”
