Odyssey Software Inc., a provider of enterprise-class mobile device management software, announced enhanced support for Android 4.0 through the company’s leading MDM software, Athena.

Odyssey Software has added several new features that enhance Athena’s MDM capabilities for Android 4.0 devices, including a device management policy designed to allow administrators to disable cameras remotely on a managed device for users working in sensitive environments, as well as enhanced password controls with more granular settings for device password requirements.

“The popularity of Android devices is being carried into the enterprise, and securing corporate data on these devices is a critical challenge for IT administrators,” says Mark Gentile, chief executive officer of Odyssey Software. “Athena now
provides expanded capabilities for managing and securing Android 4.0. The unique modular architecture of Athena, coupled with the flexibility of the Odyssey Software organization, has allowed for the rapid adaption and incorporation of these new platform enhancements.”

Odyssey Software also supplies its partners, such as enterprise system management providers, security solution providers and managed service providers (MSPs), with capabilities that they can incorporate into their solution. The Android features Athena provides are available for partner integration, with general availability for Configuration Manager customers expected in the coming weeks.
