Odyssey Software, a provider of enterprise-class mobile device management software, announced enhanced support for devices powered by the Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) platform through the company¹s flagship MDM software product, Athena.

Odyssey says it has implemented several new features that enhance Athena’s MDM capabilities for Windows Phone devices, which build on the passcode policies and remote wipe capabilities that are core to the Windows Phone platform. Some of these new features include provisioning of applications, documents and media to remote devices; hardware, software and device health reporting; device location reporting; and the ability to push customizable messages to device users over-the-air.

“As Microsoft continues to invest in the Windows Phone, Odyssey Software keeps pace by adding features to Athena that enhance the security and manageability of these devices,” says Mark Gentile, chief executive officer of Odyssey Software. “In keeping with our recent announcements for MDM support for other mobile platforms, Athena’s unique modular architecture allows for continued rapid development and deployment of new enhancements.”

Odyssey offers integrated MDM software for the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. Athena complements and extends the native MDM functions of the Configuration Manager platform to enable management of Windows Phone, Android, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and Windows Embedded CE devices. The enhanced Windows Phone MDM features Athena provides are available for partner integration now, with general availability for Configuration Manager customers expected in the coming weeks.
