The American Trucking Associations welcomed TravelCenters of America as its newest allied member. “TravelCenters of America provides fleets and drivers with facilities and services that help drive their efficiency,” says Thomas O’Brien, TA president and chief executive officer. “Additionally, we provide the care, comfort and hospitality to drivers while they are on the road away from home.”

O’Brien says TA’s association with ATA enables it to leverage its services like truck maintenance, roadside assistance and health and fitness initiatives in order to better the world of trucking. “Pace-setting programs such as our StayFit health and fitness initiative, StaySafe parking lot program and our TruckSmart smart phone application demonstrate our ability and desire to provide the trucking industry with effective solutions for the efficiency, comfort and well being of its drivers and optimization of their business processes. Above all, we look forward to doing what we can as an organization to bring additional respect to the trucking industry and the drivers who serve in it.”

“Our industry faces tremendous challenges, both political and economic, but those challenges also present opportunities for us and our members,” says Bill Graves, ATA president and CEO. “Decisions are made by those who show up, and I am tremendously pleased that TravelCenters has chosen to show up to help and to lead.”
