Volvo Trucks’ Huibers, Mack’s Flaherty to lead companies’ activities

The Volvo Group on Monday, Dec. 19, announced that Ron Huibers has been named president of North American sales and marketing for Volvo Trucks North America, while Kevin Flaherty has been named president of North American sales and marketing for Mack Trucks. Both will be responsible for their company’s commercial activities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Huibers has been with the Volvo Group for more than 15 years and served most recently as senior vice president of sales and marketing for Volvo Trucks North America. Flaherty has been with the company for 38 years and has served since 2001 as senior vice president for the U.S. and Canada. Both Huibers and Flaherty will continue to be based at the company’s headquarters in Greensboro, N.C.

Both Huibers and Flaherty will continue to report to Dennis Slagle, who as part of a recently announced reorganization has been promoted to Volvo Group executive vice president for trucks sales and marketing, Americas. In this position, Slagle will oversee the commercial activities of all the Volvo Group’s truck brands in North and South America, and have global responsibility for the Mack brand.
