Navistar Defense gets $880M upgrade order for MaxxPro MRAPs

Navistar Defense, a unit of Navistar International Corp., announced an $880 million order from the U.S. government to upgrade more than 2,700 International MaxxPro Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles. The U.S Marine Corps order calls for MaxxPro units to be upgraded with a rolling chassis and includes engineering changes, supplies and services.

Work will begin this month at the company’s assembly facility in West Point, Miss., and is scheduled for completion in October 2013.
