Pitt Ohio announced an upgrade of its mobile iPhone application to version 4.0 to meet customers’ needs for quick and portable access to shipments. Customers have the ability to view and manage their shipment needs in real time from their iPhone or iPod Touch to better manage their supply chain from pick up to delivery, the company says.

In version 4.0, Pitt Ohio says its customers can use the Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) pickup tool to schedule a new pickup, create and maintain templates of pre-filled information for recurring pickups and view the status of their most recently entered pickups. The new application also includes a Shipment Status Notification in order to keep customers informed of their shipments.

In addition to the new features in version 4.0, the application still includes functions available on previous versions. Customers can still view and save copies of their LTL Bills of Lading (BOL) and their LTL Proof of Delivery receipts. Customer’s can also access LTL transit times and track and trace both LTL and Ground shipments in real time. The application also includes a News & Headlines feature for access to the latest happenings at Pitt Ohio.

“Pitt Ohio provides innovation that allows our customers to communicate and conduct business with us from anywhere with any device,” said Scott Sullivan, Pitt Ohio’s chief information officer and chief financial officer. “With the continuous growth of our Pitt Ohio Mobile Technology, our iPhone application now supports an easy method for customers to communicate a pick up.”

iPhone and iPod Touch users can download Pitt Ohio’s application from the Apple App Store. All other Smart Phone users can access the features available on version 4.0 by logging on to Pitt Ohio’s mobile website at m.pittohio.com.
