Wiers, a fleet management company with three International Trucks dealerships, announced that it has received its ISO 9001:2008 certification, accredited by Quality Systems Registrars USA. Wiers provides fleet management and maintenance services that help commercial fleet partners increase vehicle uptime, reduce maintenance costs and extend asset life. Based in Plymouth, Ind., the company also has facilities and dealerships in Lafayette and Logansport, Ind., and a sales office in Indianapolis.

Wiers says the certification of compliance with ISO 9001:2008 recognizes that its policies, practices and procedures ensure consistent quality in the category of maintenance, management and advisory service for commercial vehicle clients. According to Wiers, manufacturing companies typically are more likely to complete ISO 9001:2008 than service companies.

“This certification demonstrates how serious Wiers is about quality,” says Tom Wiers, owner and president of the company. “The process to receive this certification took 493 days and involved countless hours of quality systems development, process analysis and refinement, internal audits and written documentation of procedures. What ISO 9001:2008 should tell our customers is that quality is our highest goal. It is part of our passion for excellence and our core promise to always deliver our best.

To maintain its certification, Wiers will undergo periodic audits by QSR to ensure continued compliance and to assess initiatives for ongoing improvement. “This was an exercise that made us examine and fine-tune all our practices and procedures to ensure quality and consistency,” Wiers says. “Plus, it made us think long-term about where we want to take Wiers in the years to come. With this certification, our clients can be confident that Wiers is dedicated to maintaining the highest efficiency and responsiveness in achieving our ultimate goal – guaranteed client satisfaction.”
