The 30th Anniversary Shell Rotella SuperRigs will be held May 17-19 at the Speedco in Joplin, Mo. Cash and prizes will be in excess of $25,000. Shell Rotella SuperRigs will feature a number of events for drivers, their families and the entire community. A truck parade will be held in downtown Joplin, as well as concerts and fireworks.
Speedco will host this year’s SuperRigs event adjacent to its Joplin store located just off Interstate 44 at Exit 11. Speedco also will be holding a grand reopening celebration for its Joplin location, which was damaged severely by last year’s tornado.
The Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition is a truck beauty contest for actively working trucks. Owner-operator truckers from across the United States and Canada will compete for cash and prizes. Additionally, 12 drivers will be selected to have their trucks featured in the 2013 Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar. Every entrant in the contest will be awarded with a gift package valued at more than $50 while supplies last.
Trucks are judged by industry professionals who score the rigs on exterior appearance, design, detail/finish, originality and workmanship. In total, 18 working trucks receive awards for categories such as Best of Show, Tractor, Tractor/Trailer Combination and Classic categories.
