PPG Commercial Coatings has announced that Christopher Graniero, PPG commercial territory manager, was certified at the highest level of CIP certification as a NACE Certified Coating Inspector-Level 3 by NACE International in Houston.

Since 1983, the NACE Coating Inspector Program has set the global standard for inspections in the protective coatings industry. More than 14,000 individuals have received coating inspector certification; only 1,500 individuals worldwide have mastered the rigors of the CIP to earn Level 3 certification. To reach this achievement, Chris successfully completed an intensive two-week training course culminating in a two-hour oral peer-reviewed exam.

“This is quite a feat,” said Chris Pannent, director, commercial coatings, USCA. “Attaining NACE Level 3 certification can be an extremely daunting challenge. And when you realize there are only 1,500 people in the whole world to hold that status, then you can really appreciate what Chris Graniero has achieved.”
