Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America announced a change in the leadership of its North American Dealer Advisory Council. Doug Small — dealer principal at The Truck Shop, Auburn, Wash., who has been Advisory Council chairman for the past three years and a member of the Advisory Council for the past six — has stepped down, effective at the Advisory Council meeting held on April 11 at MFTA headquarters in Logan Township, N.J.
Jim Thommen, dealer principal at Thommen’s Truck Sales, Bethel, Conn., was elected by the Advisory Council to take over the duties of chairman, and was installed at the same meeting.
“It has been a great pleasure to serve, both as a member and as the chairman of the Advisory Council, but it’s time for me to step aside and give other dealers the opportunity to serve,” Small said. “Mitsubishi Fuso and its dealer body have witnessed great change during the years I have served, and together we have celebrated a number of milestones, including the 25th anniversary, the appointment of Todd Bloom as the new CEO and the launch of the revolutionary new Fuso Canter. I’ve personally watched the Advisory Board grow and become more active in advocating for the dealer body. I look forward to its continued expansion.”
