Detroit tour trailer hits the highway

Updated Jun 27, 2012

Detroit Diesel this week unveiled its new 2012 tour trailer. Scheduled to visit dealerships and trade shows throughout the year, the updated trailer showcases the complete line of Detroit products. The trailer – which is being pulled by the new 2014 Freightliner Cascadia Evolution equipped with an enhanced Detroit DD15 engine – highlights Detroit steer and tandem axles, as well as the new Detroit DT12 automated manual transmission.

The trailer also has several new informational videos and interactive components, including a touchscreen feature that enables customers to view the wide range of vocations and trucks where Detroit engines and components can be found. An interactive walkthrough of Detroit Virtual Technician – which provides extensive and precise data on stops, idle time, speed, location, path, fuel consumption and more – also is available.

“Our new tour trailer visually and interactively showcases our total vehicle integration approach, showing customers the full breadth of our solutions,” said Brad Williamson, manager, engine and component marketing, Daimler Trucks North America. “We invite everyone to come to the Detroit Tour Trailer and learn more about our innovations.”
