Longistics announced that Chairman Duane Long has been reappointed to the Research Triangle Regional Partnership board of directors. Long was appointed by RTRP Chairman Jeff Stocks and will serve his second term with RTRP and the executive committee.

The RTRP is a business-driven public-private partnership dedicated to keeping the 13-county Research Triangle Region economically competitive through business, government and educational collaboration. RTRP’s 59-member board of directors comprises representatives from each of the 13 counties and the Research Triangle Park. The board advises and oversees RTRP initiatives.

The RTRP recently hosted its 2012 State of the Region that included updates on successes from the organization’s economic development plan, The Shape of Things to Come, which calls for creating 100,000 jobs by 2014 and increasing employment in the region’s 13 counties by nurturing the growth of businesses in 11 targeted clusters related to life sciences and technology.

“I am honored to be reappointed to the Research Triangle Regional Partnership board of directors this year,” says Long. “As an entrepreneur, I hope that I can serve my region by bringing my 40 years of business experience to help create a better future for our citizens.”
