Exel, a provider of supply chain management and a Deutsche Post DHL company, earned the 2012 North American Best 3PL award for pharmaceutical, life sciences and healthcare supply chain during eyefortransport’s annual 3PL Summit in Atlanta. Eyefortransport also recognized Exel as a finalist in five other categories, including automotive supply chains; chemical, hazmat, oil and gas supply chains; consumer goods supply chains; high-tech and electronics supply chains; and industrial supply chains. This is the fifth time in six years that Exel has been honored with a “Best 3PL” award.

Eyefortransport is a provider of business intelligence and networking for the transport, logistics and supply chain industry. Each year, the eyefortransport 3PL awards identify 3PLs that continuously deliver excellence in logistics operations and superior service to their customers. The nominees are judged by North American 3PL customers who frequently work with logistics service providers.

“It’s a very exciting year for the 3PL awards,” said Katharine O’Reilly, executive director of eyefortransport. “We’ve had a great voter response, and the competition in some categories is fierce. It’s clear that happy customers are really willing to support their best logistics partners. This represents a real sense of partnership in the industry, and reflects longer and more stable relationships that are a very positive trend.”

Exel’s Life Sciences & Healthcare business unit works with leading pharmaceutical and healthcare companies across North America, providing core logistics services including warehousing and order fulfillment, transportation management and secondary packaging.
