Drivewyze has added 22 agricultural inspection stations in Florida to its PreClear bypass service. The new sites join its 440 weigh stations and inspection sites in 33 states across the country.
Drivewyze recently reached an agreement with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) allowing qualified carriers to bypass the Florida agriculture interdiction sites using Drivewyze PreClear. The OALE will allow qualified fleets to bypass agriculture inspection sites through the mobile inspection site bypass service. Drivewyze already began offering truck fleets and operators weigh station bypass service at 19 fixed interstate locations in Florida last year.
“The agricultural site bypasses are delivered as part of the standard Drivewyze bypass service,” said Drivewyze president Brian Heath. “There’s no additional sign-up process, and no lengthy paperwork or extra fees required.”
All carriers that do not haul agriculture, and that do not operate refrigerated units (loaded or empty), may be eligible for the Drivewyze bypass opportunity at the agriculture inspection sites.
“The agricultural inspection sites are a critical component to safeguarding Florida’s agricultural industry, which contributes about $100 billion annually to the state’s economy,” Heath said. “That’s why officers must verify the identity of trucks and check to see whether they’re carrying loads that they should be examining more closely.”
By providing qualified carriers bypass opportunities at the agriculture inspection sites, enforcement officers with the OALE can concentrate their efforts on specific carriers of agricultural, horticultural, aquaculture, and livestock commodities, Heath said.
Drivewyze PreClear is the only cloud-based service that alerts drivers 2 miles before approaching a weigh station or an agriculture inspection site in Florida. This allows the truck fleet or operator to earn up to a 98 percent bypass rate at weigh stations, depending on their safety record, and even more bypasses at Florida agriculture sites, depending on their load status.
Drivewyze works on Android or iOS-based tablets or smartphones, and is also available on in-cab fleet devices from PeopleNet, Zonar and Rand McNally. Drivewyze customers using the Android version of the service are able to start receiving bypasses at the 22 Florida Agriculture sites immediately; an update for Rand McNally, Zonar, PeopleNet and iOS users is coming soon.
A map with all of the currently active weigh stations in the South and across the country is available on the Drivewyze web site: https://drivewyze.com/coverage-map/. While the Drivewyze PreClear heads-up service is free, the bypass service is subscription-based and starts at $15.75 per vehicle per month with 30-day free trial offers and volume discounts available.
