Meritor announced the availability of the AxlePak7 on-highway trailer wheel-ends later this spring that will include an extended 7-year warranty coverage. AxlePak7 features premium wheel-end components and offers a choice of ductile iron or optional aluminum hubs, along with premium long-life wheel seals, spindle nuts and synthetic, semifluid grease.

“Every minute, every penny, every mile and every gallon counts,” said Brett Penzkofer, trailer division vice president and general manager for Meritor. “Running on under-inflated tires or downtime can be a drain on all of these. Fleets are looking for ways to reduce maintenance costs and extend service life, and trailer wheel-ends are critical to their need for longer-life components,” “We listened to our customers and are offering AxlePak7 to help them get even more value from their Meritor wheel-ends.”

To date, more than 1 million Meritor Tire Inflation Systems by P.S.I. have been produced for more than 6 million tires, and the company says MTIS is spec’d on one out of three trailers built today.

Warranty coverage includes the following components:

  • Hubs, bearings, seals, hubcaps and spindle nuts
  • Thru-tees and stators for MTIS by P.S.I., when the
MTIS option is selected in conjunction with AxlePak7
