Instructional Technologies Inc. (ITI) announced a new training automation platform called Sentix. The company says it developed the platform as a web-based learning management system (LMS) that integrates with fleet management systems of various kinds to automatically schedule, track, verify and manage training.

Sentix Training Automation PlatformDuring a conference call with reporters, Aaron Purvis, chief technology officer, said the product will help fleet safety managers eliminate the time they spend fiddling with spreadsheets and manually scheduling driver training.

Fleets can automatically assign training content based on job titles, hire dates, endorsements or based on triggers such as a hard braking event or safety trend.

“All of this is possible because we built Sentix to integrate with other systems used in the transportation industry. Sentix helps fleets reduce liability by more quickly changing dangerous or expensive behavior, more easily meeting safety or compliance requirements, and more securely connecting training to your fleet’s other systems,” he said.

Sentix uses customizable web-based portals, dashboards, and APIs to transportation management, fleet telematics and other systems. The technology makes it possible to:

  • Automatically assign training based on criteria such as hire date, training requirements, incidents, policies and regulations
  • Track the expiration of licenses, medical certificates and endorsements
  • Share data between back office systems
  • Run reports based on a wide range of parameters on individual drivers and groups

“With Sentix we’re making the process of managing this highly important part of a fleet’s operation easier and more accurate for the people charged with that essential task,” said Dr. Jim Voorhees, founder, president and CEO at ITI.

Sentix will be available on Nov. 1, Purvis said, as the backbone for its online PRO-TREAD driver training content.
