Revenues, profits at large truckload carriers remain strong in the first quarter

Revenues and profits of large publicly traded trucking companies started the year off with strong upward momentum in the first quarter of the year, as the freight market held strong and rates remained elevated. 

Continuing the trend seen in the last half of 2017, nearly all carriers who publicly release earnings statements reported boosts in both top line and bottom line numbers compared to the same period in 2017:
