Carriers have until Monday, July 16, to file public comments on an application filed with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requesting that the agency exempt carriers with 50 employees or fewer from the electronic logging device mandate.
The request was filed by the Small Business in Transportation Coalition. It was published by FMCSA June 5, originally offering a 30-day comment period, through July 5. However, FMCSA extended the comment period to July 16, due to technical issues with the comment portal during the original comment period.
Comments can be made through the regulations.gov portal at this link, until 11:59 p.m. on July 16.
