Schneider (CCJ Top 250, No. 8) has acquired deBoer Transportation, a regional and dedicated carrier headquartered in Blenker, Wisconsin.

Financial terms were not disclosed, however, Schneider gets approximately 160 tractors and 660 trailers in the deal.

deBoer's facility in Blenker, Wisconsin, and maintenance shop near Dallas, Texas, are not included in the sale.

"This was an opportunistic acquisition – a Wisconsin-based company with attractive qualities whose owners were looking to exit," said Schneider Senior Financial Analyst, Investor Relations Tyler VanderGaast. "Our motivation was primarily to access their drivers and equipment, which we will be redeploying to more profitable opportunities within the enterprise such as Dedicated and Power Only."

VanderGaast added the company would retain and reposition qualified drivers, "and based on the size and configuration, we anticipate a quick integration process within the next quarter or so."

deBoer Trucking began operations in 1967 as a family run cattle hauler in rural Blenker. deBoer purchased Intrastate Texas carrier North American Freight Service in 1993. A decade later deBoer Transportation, Inc., was formed to expand the range of services to include a company fleet, owner operator division and brokerage services. Today the company is a full service Smartway Carrier operating throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
