Morton, Illinois-based flatbedder Yordy Transport has been acquired by Diamond State Trucking & Logistics, a subsidiary of Birmingham, Alabama-based PS Logistics (CCJ Top 250, No. 29). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Thirty-truck carrier Yordy Transport was founded in 2018 by Avery Yordy and primarily hauls railroad, steel, lumber, and building materials freight across the central and southeastern U.S. Scott Smith, PS Logistics chief executive officer and co-founder of said Yordy Transport’s freight mix and geographic coverage are complementary to Diamond States. PS Logistics is one of the largest privately held transportation and logistics companies in the country

"Diamond State will be a great partner for my business," said Avery Yordy. "Throughout the process of working with them, it became evident that they are committed to the drivers’ success, and I’m excited that Yordy Transport will now be a part of a larger organization that will provide greater freight choices to Yordy’s drivers and operational expertise to the business.”

Since 2016, PS Logistics has successfully acquired 26 trucking operations and five non-asset logistics operations across the United States.
