ATDynamics Inc. on Monday, Oct. 18, introduced its TrailerTail Model 2011 at the American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition in Phoenix. The aerodynamic fairing, designed for installation at a trailer’s rear to address rear drag, can improve fuel efficiency by as much as 6.6 percent, according to the company, citing third-party testing.
TrailerTail Model 2011 features ultralight thermoplastic composite material and collapsible origami architecture. ATDynamics, which expects to roll out 1,600 TrailerTail units by the end of the first quarter of 2011, is providing a 90-day risk-free offer.
