ConMet rolls out TruckWings install network, tech tips series

ConMet's TruckWings display at TMCConMet was busy this week at the ATA's Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting in Nashville, announcing updates to its product offering and technical training guidance to support customers.

ConMet's biggest product marketing announcement Monday was the expansion of its modification center network for TruckWings, the active aerodynamic device that improves fuel efficiency by reducing drag that ConMet acquired in 2023. By expanding its network, ConMet says it has made it easier for customers to acquire retrofits and bring TruckWings into their operations. The company's new modification partners will offer streamlined installation options that minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.

TruckWings, which has more than one billion miles driven across major fleets and an extended warranty option now available, is a trusted solution for fleets seeking long-term aerodynamic improvements, the company says.

ConMet also is using TMC as another platform to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of its PreSet technology. Since its introduction, ConMet says PreSet technology has set the standard for durability and reliability in commercial vehicle wheel ends. With over 40 million PreSet and PreSet Plus hubs produced and an estimated 31 trillion miles traveled, fleets continue to benefit from reduced maintenance, improved performance and long-term cost savings.

At TMC, ConMet says it is emphasizing the importance of using genuine PreSet replacement parts to maintain the reliability and performance of wheel ends. Reliability in Replacement highlights how high-quality components contribute to improved uptime and safety, offering fleets confidence in their maintenance decisions.

Unlike traditional hub rebuilds, which require precise bearing adjustments and extensive labor, replacing a hub with a PreSet or PreSet Plus hub is a faster, easier solution that helps minimize downtime. ConMet adds PreSet technology ensures that components are properly preassembled and pre-adjusted, streamlining maintenance and reducing the risk of improper installation. By choosing authentic PreSet replacement hubs, fleets can get trucks back on the road in less time, with greater reliability, the company says.

Finally, recognizing the need for continued industry education, ConMet has launched the Tech Tip video series, a resource designed to support customers and technicians with practical maintenance tips, product insights and best practices. The company says the initiative aligns with ConMet’s mission to enhance fleet efficiency and performance through knowledge-sharing. The series focuses on essential service topics related to wheel ends and TruckWings at launch, but will expand to cover additional topics, providing even more valuable resources for fleet operators and technicians.

ConMet's also has advanced its zero-emission reefer technology in collaboration with Carrier Transicold and says that development is on display at Carrier's booth during the show. The company says this cutting-edge solution provides sustainable power for refrigerated trailers, helping fleets reduce emissions and improve efficiency while maintaining the performance and reliability required for temperature-sensitive cargo.
