EnerSys’ Odyssey Performance Series 4D-1300 and 8D-1500 batteries feature Thin Plate Pure Lead technology and absorbed glass mat separators designed to hold acid in place to prevent spills even when installed on their sides. TPPL technology is applied to the manufacturing of flat plates made of pure lead that are thinner, enabling more of them to fit in the battery for an increased plate surface area to allow them to generate more power and to provide a longer service life and greater reliability and deep-cycle capabilities. The 4D-1300 is built to provide engine-cranking pulses up to 2,400 amps and 1,300 cold cranking amps, while the 8D-1500 is engineered to provide engine-cranking pulses up to 2,700 amps and 1,500 CCA. Both vibration-resistant batteries feature a three- to 10-year service life and a two-year storage life at 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
