Designed to enhance freight consistency and transparency, Saia’s new REV program introduces automated 10 a.m. delivery windows, upgraded turn-by-turn shipment tracking, and expanded final-mile logistics services.

  • Network-Wide Transit Reductions: Saia is accelerating schedules across more than 2,000 lanes, impacting over 90% of its 218 terminals by cutting transit times by a full day on key routes.
  • Automated Guaranteed Delivery: Shippers can now automatically book standard guaranteed delivery windows, including an industry-leading 10 a.m. option backed by a refund policy.
  • Consumer-Grade Tracking Visibility: The new track-and-trace interface provides dynamic ETAs and turn-by-turn GPS tracking that updates every 15 seconds once en route, without disrupting existing TMS integrations.
  • Expanded Final-Mile Logistics: Saia Logistics (formerly LinkEx) has broadened its capabilities to offer specialized services such as residential, white-glove, room-of-choice, and two-person delivery teams.

Saia (CCJ Top 250, No. 18) recently launched a new company-wide initiative aimed at accelerating transit times, expanding logistics services and enhancing real-time shipment tracking across North America.

Dubbed Saia REV (Rapid, Expanded and Visible), the initiative integrates a series of technology and network investments to meet evolving shipper demands for faster, more predictable freight transportation. Rather than introducing brand-new platforms, REV packages operational technologies the carrier has developed and refined since 2018, including linehaul optimization, dispatch systems and driver handheld tools, into a streamlined customer-facing experience.

“REV is about giving customers more ways to move freight, faster routes across key lanes, and a better overall shipping experience,” Ray Ramu, Saia executive vice president and chief customer officer, said in a statement. “Customers need transportation partners that can deliver confidence through dependable service.”

As part of the rollout, the less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier is implementing more than 2,000 transit time improvements across its network. The adjustments will reduce transit schedules on key lanes, cutting five-day service to four days, and four-day service to three days. Company officials noted that the enhancements touch more than 90% of Saia’s 218 terminals nationwide, driven by terminal network expansion and direct linehaul redesigns aimed at boosting delivery consistency.

Saia is also introducing an automated, standard Guaranteed 10 a.m. delivery service, which company officials said is the earliest standard morning delivery window provided by a nationwide LTL carrier. Unlike previous manual quote-and-monitor workflows, REV automates the booking and tracking process from end to end.

Shippers can secure the service by noting "Saia Guaranteed" and the requested delivery time on the bill of lading or via booking platforms. The 10 a.m. option carries a 45% premium, while noon and 5 p.m. guarantees incur 35% and 25% upcharges, respectively. If a shipment misses its guaranteed window, customers can file for a reimbursement claim within 15 business days. Saia is also launching a unified expedited service for time-sensitive freight.

Ramu noted that Saia's commitment to reliability is backed by its 0.50% cargo claims rate.

To improve supply chain transparency, the REV initiative includes an upgraded track-and-trace platform that operates alongside existing transportation management system (TMS) integrations and digital connections without requiring custom replacements. Built to mirror consumer-grade tracking tools, the system provides turn-by-turn GPS visibility, with location data refreshing roughly every 15 seconds once a driver is en route.

The platform offers dynamic ETA updates and integrated tools for specialized freight, such as liftgate or limited-access deliveries. Future updates are expected to include direct, two-way communication among shippers, dispatchers and drivers to handle delivery preferences and special instructions on the fly.

Additionally, the initiative expands the capabilities of Saia Logistics, the company's recently rebranded third-party logistics and supply chain management arm formerly known as LinkEx.

To address growing demand for complex delivery options, Saia Logistics is introducing expanded final-mile capabilities. The new services include residential delivery, white-glove service, room-of-choice delivery, debris removal and two-person delivery teams.

“REV brings the spirit of Saia’s ‘It’s a Yes’ campaign to life by expanding the ways the company can say yes to customers,” Ramu said.
