00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts highlights a new satellite-enabled vehicle tracker, weigh station bypass expansion and more.
00:19 Queclink Wireless Solutions, a provider of IoT devices and hardware, has launched its first satellite-enabled vehicle tracker, designed to operate in the harshest environments, where cellular networks are unreliable or unavailable, to deliver advanced security, driver safety and transportation management solutions.
The GV75MG SAT supports Cat M1/GSM and Non-Terrestrial Network-IoT communications, providing dual-mode tracking that combines both cellular and satellite networks. BLE connectivity and RS232 support means the easy-to-install tracking unit can connect with a range of Bluetooth beacons, temperature and door sensors, and other peripheral devices for richer telemetry and data capture. It also features an IP67-rated waterproof design and a wide voltage range for stable and reliable performance in various operating conditions.
01:13 PrePass Safety Alliance’s weigh station bypass mobile app is now available in Vermont.
This will allow qualified commercial trucks to bypass two enforcement locations: Putney southbound on I-91 and Fair Haven eastbound on Route 4.
The PrePass mobile app securely transmits safety scores, credential information, and other compliance data to enforcement officers as trucks approach inspection sites. Vehicles that meet Vermont’s safety and credential standards may be cleared to continue at highway speeds, which saves times and fuel by reducing downtime, idling and stop-and-go traffic at inspection stations.
01:50 Relay Payments is now accepted nationwide at TravelCenters of America, Petro Stopping Centers and TA Express locations, enabling drivers to pay for diesel fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) at the pump and in-store using Relay’s cardless solution.
Relay’s digital fuel payments streamline fueling and eliminate risk of fraud due to fuel-card skimming. Operations departments now have more control and less manual work through a fully digital process.
02:17 Optimal Dynamics, a provider of AI-powered freight forecasting solutions, has partnered with transportation and logistics company Challenger Motor Freight, marking its first foray into the Canadian market.
Optimal Dynamics said this move comes in direct response to surging demand from Canadian fleets seeking advanced technology to navigate today’s complex freight environment.
The company is expanding its Decision Automation Platform to meet the unique requirements of intra-Canadian and cross-border operations with the aim to help Canadian carriers increase revenue per truck, asset utilization and planning team efficiency.
