00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts features Fleetworthy’s latest safety and compliance capability, Averitt’s new rate quote feature and more.

00:19 Averitt has rolled out a new feature on Averitt.com that allows shippers to receive instant truckload rate quotes and book shipments directly through the website.

The new functionality enables customers with an Averitt.com profile to quickly generate truckload quotes for van, flatbed or refrigerated shipments moving anywhere in the continental U.S.

Once a shipment is booked, verified, and confirmed, Averitt’s North America Truckload team secures a driver and communicates pickup confirmation details directly with the shipper. Shipment tracking is available through the website once the load has been picked up.

00:54 Freight services provider Mesilla Valley Transportation plans to install about 1,400 units of the iQ‑Cruise system across its fleet over the next 18 months.

The advanced AI‑powered fuel‑efficiency technology – developed by Traxen and distributed exclusively by Eaton – will support MVT’s fuel efficiency and cost savings goals.

The iQ‑Cruise system combines adaptive and predictive capabilities in a single device, using AI, high‑definition 3D maps, advanced algorithms and GPS to determine the most fuel‑efficient driving strategy for each route. Working with all makes and models of automated manual transmissions, the technology continuously monitors real‑time traffic, weather and vehicle load to optimize vehicle speed. Based on performance data from over 25 million fleet miles in a pilot program, the system delivered 5% to 7% fuel savings.

01:46 Fleetworthy has added a new functionality to its safety and compliance solution. The new accident tracking capability provides fleets with a structured way to document, manage, and analyze all accidents through a standardized workflow.

By going beyond basic DOT reporting requirements and aligning data capture across locations and teams, fleets can transform incident records into actionable safety intelligence that drives long-term safety improvement and risk reduction.

Accident Tracking centralizes accident data in a single, standardized workflow, tying each incident directly to drivers, vehicles, and compliance records. By capturing consistent information across locations and teams, fleets gain the visibility needed to evaluate preventability, identify trends, and reduce future risk without relying on fragmented spreadsheets, email threads, or disconnected systems. Each record preserves compliance context at the time of the incident and securely stores supporting documentation, including photos and reports, in a searchable, audit-ready format.

02:46 Platform Science has launched a new portal designed to provide transportation fleet operators with comprehensive access to product security, privacy, and compliance information.

Trust Portal, which provides detailed information on Platform Science’s security program, including governance frameworks, risk management practices, data privacy standards, and third-party audit certifications, offers a comprehensive, self-service destination where customers and partners can review the company’s security controls, data handling practices, compliance posture, and certifications all in one place.

03:19 Global telematics company CalAmp now offers its enterprise customers a direct, real-time data pipeline into Google Cloud with its Google Pub/Sub integration for CalAmp Telematics Cloud.

The integration is designed to help transportation and logistics organizations eliminate data delays, operationalize AI faster, and respond to in-transit events in real time. It enables customers to stream enriched telematics data into Google Cloud continuously, reducing the delays associated with batch processing and minimizing the need for custom-built data pipelines that are costly to maintain and scale.

With continuous data streaming, enterprises can dynamically adjust routes, respond to disruptions as they happen, and maintain real-time visibility across vehicles and assets. The same data can simultaneously support operational dashboards, analytics platforms, and AI/ML applications.
