00:00 In this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts, we’ll take a look at a new AI rate adviser, an advanced trailer tracking device, a new safety alert integration and much more.
00:35 C.H. Robinson has built new AI technology designed to operate a shipper’s global supply chain while simultaneously assessing and improving its performance. Now serving the company’s 4PL Managed Solutions customers, a Lean AI Engineer works in concert with the Lean AI Planner introduced last year to create one connected system that enhances a supply chain as it runs.
The Lean AI Engineer can assess an entire supply chain in 25 to 30 minutes and determine improvements before performance is impacted. While the Lean AI Engineer delivers intel, the Lean AI Planner manages shipments through hundreds of interconnected AI agents and in turn feeds more data back to the Lean AI Engineer to develop even smarter refinements.
The technology is autonomously handling 92% of 4PL shipments globally across trucking, ocean, air and rail.
01:28 Transfix, a TMS provider for freight brokers and 3PLs, has rolled out a new AI rate recommendation software embedded directly inside the Transfix TMS quoting form.
The AI rate adviser synthesizes market rate, historical lane, cost-model forecast, projected margin and award history into a single recommendation with explicit reasoning. A snapshot view surfaces historical margin, synthetic rate, cost-model p50, and award win rate at a glance, while a built-in chat layer answers follow-up pricing and market questions in plain English. A reverse rate calculator lets brokers enter a target shipper rate and instantly see the maximum carrier budget that preserves margin.
02:09 Relay Payments’ digital payments platform for the trucking and logistics industry is now available on the Platform Science Virtual Vehicle Marketplace. Platform Science joins more than 300 TMS, ELD, and other third-party systems that integrate with Relay.
Key benefits of the integration include seamless setup, real-time fleet visibility into driver and vehicle data, and stronger fraud prevention.
02:33 Trimble has integrated with Omni Powered by Engine to provide truck drivers seamless access to hotel booking.
Engine, a travel and spend management platform, recently launched Omni, an API that allows companies to integrate Engine's hotel network and booking capabilities into a website or app without having to build supplier connectivity, payment infrastructure, search capabilities, compliance systems, or traveler support from scratch.
Omni is now directly integrated into Trimble Places, a commercial location database that includes amenity information, wait times and more. It will also be integrated into Trimble Road Call, a full-serve vehicle breakdown module within Trimble TMT Fleet Maintenance solution, and Trimble CoPilot, a GPS navigation solution designed for commercial fleets.
03:18 Queclink Wireless Solutions has introduced a new advanced trailer tracking device. The hard-wired GV650MG unit delivers dependable network and positioning capabilities and a large backup battery, alongside complex telematics customization.
The tracker introduces an Open CAN framework to its range of hard-wired trailer tracking solutions for the first time. Unlike conventional CAN-based devices that rely on a fixed pre-integrated CAN library, the device allows customers to integrate data according to precise supply chain needs, enabling more customized telematics solutions and easier scaling across mixed fleet operations.
03:54 Delivery management software provider DispatchTrack has launched an in-cab voice briefing system for delivery drivers. Called Driver AI, the system automatically generates a short briefing before each stop on the driver's route.
Parking availability, building/site access codes, notes or instructions from the customer, and other key delivery context that often falls through the cracks is all slotted into the driver's existing workflow to increase efficiency by avoiding slowdowns and preventable delivery exceptions.
04:23 GPS and transportation solutions developer Catrak Technologies has relaunched its no-cost, mobile-first fleet and field service solution Drivestream.
Drivestream, a platform that eliminates hardware costs, installation downtime and subscription fees, fuses Fleet GPS technology with a workforce time clock solution.
Features include real-time tracking of vehicle and driver locations, automated timesheets, comprehensive trip histories and reports for route assessment and cost management, geofencing with location-based notifications, overtime monitoring with automated alerts, and a privacy-conscious design that only activates tracking during specified work hours.
05:02 HAAS Alert's Safety Cloud Alert solution is now integrated into PrePass Safety Alliance’s alerts. This expands PrePass’ capabilities to include live digital warnings for approaching emergency vehicles, incident responders and active work zones.
The Safety Cloud platform automatically captures hazard events when emergency or incident responders activate their vehicles' warning lights or when work zone equipment is deployed. Safety alerts are then relayed directly to professional drivers using the PrePass Mobile App, providing advance warning to improve safety.
05:34 TMS software provider Magnus Technologies has released its June 2026 Diesel Fuel Index. This inaugural report is a quarterly market intelligence analysis designed to help carriers better understand exposure by tracking weekly diesel price movement against common surcharge reset structures. The index provides a single reference point for evaluating how fuel volatility impacts carrier margins and fuel cost recovery.
