Samsara customers come together throughout the year at various events, including the fleet management and safety platform’s annual Beyond user conference that will be held this week in Las Vegas. But when those events ended, their customers’ desire to stay connected didn’t, said Alex Williams of Samsara.

That’s what led the company to launch Samsara Community, a new 24/7 global online hub that connects its tens of thousands of customers across North America and Europe.

“We didn’t create it; our customers did,” said Williams, head of Community at Samsara. “At its core, the community is the central destination for customers to connect, collaborate and learn with one another.”

Samsara Community gives operations professional a place to find peers in their industry, region and focus area so they can talk through common challenges and discover new solutions together. Users can makes posts addressing various topics like safety, maintenance, asset management and more, and others in the community can respond.

“Providing new opportunities to build connections is an important investment in our customers’ long-term success,” said Samsara Chief Marketing Officer Meagen Eisenberg. “We have spent more than a decade building one of the most diverse and experienced customer bases in physical operations. The Samsara Community is how we put that collective knowledge to work and shape the industry’s future.”

In addition to connecting people to collective expertise, Community offers immediate access to knowledge articles, academy courses, stories and insights, community news, webinars and product updates, among other things. Customers with product-specific questions can go to the product forum tab to start a discussion and get responses from Samsara experts as well as customers who have had similar experiences.

Williams said his favorite features is the Community groups, which hosts customers based on industry, such as transportation and logistics, flatbed and heavy haul, food and beverage, oil and gas, public sector, passenger transit, waste management, field services, airlines and more.

“What we hope to see over time is our customers growing in their careers, mentoring others and building connections that extend beyond any single conversation or topic thread,” Williams said. “We want someone in their first fleet manager role to find a mentor here, and a 20-plus year industry veteran to have a platform to discuss what they've learned.”

Anyopne with access to a Samsara dashboard, including trial users, can join the Samsara Community, which is available now. Members can also participate in programs that directly inform Samsara’s product roadmap.

Williams said the best product ideas come from customer conversations and being in the field with them. Community adds a new dimension to that.

“When operators come together to talk through real challenges, patterns emerge. You start to see where the industry is feeling friction, what's working, and where there are gaps,” Williams said. “The Community adds a new dimension to that. It's not just one fleet telling us about a feature they’d love to have; it's a whole network of operators validating that same need. We're already seeing product development discussions happen organically.”
