00:00 In this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts, we’ll dive into trucking insurance, video telematics, AI assistants, cybersecurity, new tools for freight brokers and more.

00:35 The National Motor Freight Traffic Association has released the NMFTA Cybersecurity AI Governance Framework, a free resource designed to help trucking and logistics organizations adopt AI securely, responsibly and with confidence.

The framework helps transportation organizations evaluate AI use cases, define accountability, assess vendor offerings, protect sensitive data, and manage cybersecurity risks associated with AI-enabled technologies. It provides 50 actionable controls across five governance domains, helping fleets and logistics providers establish policies, evaluate risks and implement safeguards.

01:13 Video telematics vendor Lytx has introduced new capabilities to its all-in-one fleet management solution LytxOne.

LytxOne combines AI-driven operational intelligence with configurable privacy controls to help fleets strengthen safety programs, improve coaching, streamline operations and build driver trust.

New fleet safety enhancements include:

  • Fleet AI Assistant for natural-language questions across drivers, vehicles, maintenance, compliance and safety events
  • Disable Cameras by Schedule or Geofence and Disable Road Camera for configurable privacy controls
  • Risk ID without Recording for risk detection without video capture
  • Picture-in-Picture View for richer incident review and coaching context
  • Speed Context in Safety Event Details for faster assessment of speeding severity

New fleet management and operations enhancements include:

  • Asset Trackers for visibility into trailers, containers, tools and equipment
  • Vehicle Proximity Search to locate nearby vehicles for dispatching and investigations
  • Multiple Trips View to compare trips side by side with summarized metrics

Recent compliance enhancements include:

  • Automated IFTA reporting to reduce administrative work and simplify fuel tax preparation
  • Integrated DVIR, fuel reporting and mileage tracking to streamline regulatory workflows
  • Unified compliance management to support audit readiness, inspections and day-to-day oversight

02:36 Michelin Connected Fleet has integrated an AI assistant into its MyConnectedFleet platform.

The assistant enables managers of heavy goods vehicle, passenger transport and light commercial vehicle fleets to submit plain language queries and receive insights into fuel consumption, driver behavior and journey-related data. New features will gradually be added to the solution based on customer feedback.

03:00 Fintech company Acrisure has launched Asero Insurance Services, a new specialty insurance platform that serves small and medium-sized businesses in commercial transportation and logistics.

Asero’s various programs are tailored to help protect trucking businesses on the road as well as support the unique risks of timely deliveries, route complexities and regulatory compliance.

The platform, which serves other business sectors as well, offers products that include property, casualty, workers compensation and specialty coverages.

03:31 Descartes Systems Group has rolled out a new review management and audit logging capability to help freight brokers, 3PLs and shippers create auditable, transparent carrier selection processes.

Built directly into its carrier onboarding and compliance solution MyCarrierPortal, AuditLog combines carrier review management and audit logging in a single workflow, helping organizations create a clear record of carrier evaluations, management reviews and onboarding decisions. The solution automatically documents carrier risk assessment information, review activity, management oversight and outcomes at the time decisions are made, which preserves a historical record of carrier evaluations and onboarding decisions.

In other Descartes news, the company has acquired Drivin, a Latin American last mile delivery management solutions provider. Drivin enables distributors, retailers, consumer goods companies, and logistics service providers to improve delivery performance with advanced route optimization, dispatch management, and real-time execution visibility, enhanced by machine learning and agentic AI capabilities.

04:35 Truckstop.com has unveiled two new tools within its freight platform, which connects carriers and brokers across load matching, compliance and payments.

Carrier Hub consolidates carrier authority, insurance and FMCSA safety data into one place and enables brokers to monitor carriers on an ongoing basis. Its advanced tier delivers configurable compliance monitoring, driven by the broker’s own rules-based policy controls, helping them surface the data they want to see sooner. The tool helps brokers and shippers work more efficiently and provides greater visibility when selecting carriers, supporting their efforts to reduce the risk of fraud-related theft, identity theft and double-brokering. Its private network access gives brokers visibility to capacity not available on public boards, as well as intelligent carrier profiles, Carrier Performance Reporting (CPR) ratings, Certificate of Insurance (COI) data, DOT data monitoring and more.

Broker Assistant, which brings the platform’s most-used brokerage tools directly into a browser, is available as a free Chrome and Edge extension for all Truckstop Load Board Broker and Combo customers. This enables brokers to post loads, manage them, source carriers and monitor the market without leaving email or flipping between tabs. Ask Pat, the AI co-pilot built into Broker Assistant, enables brokers to type plain-English commands to post loads, find carriers or pull risk insights.

05:56 Transportation-focused fintech Triumph Financial has launched RFP Manager.

Powered by the Triumph Network, which provides visibility into approximately 70% of North American brokered freight transactions and payments to more than 170,000 carriers, RFP Manager combines transaction data and carrier payment activity with broker-specific buying patterns at the lane level to support contract pricing.

The solution embeds Triumph Rate Intelligence directly into RFP execution, allowing brokers to evaluate pricing within a single system rather than reconciling multiple external data sources. Teams can standardize bid processes, manage multiple rounds, evaluate lane-level pricing and track outcomes over time.
