
Navistar has received Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval on its 13-liter engines the company announced, adding they expect to deliver their first Cummins powered ProStar units with SCR-based 13-liter engines by May 1.
The company introduced its first SCR-based commercial trucks in North America late last year with the ProStar powered with the Cummins ISX 15-liter engine.
The 13-liter engine’s approval now gives Navistar a complete lineup of SCR engines for it’s Class 8 International line.
Last summer, Navistar elected to abort plans to develop a large bore EGR engine and opted to partner with Cummins.
